- Patrick, son of Daniel and Margaret McCurdy, married Mary Laughlin, his cousin, a daughter of his mother's brother. Patrick and Mary had six children, namely (1) Archibald, or Uncle Archie, born 1722, died 1805. He had a son, Archibald, who died the same year as himself. Three children of this son Archibald were Mary, born 1767; Lizzie, or Elizabeth; and Neil, born 1785. The second child of Patrick and Mary was Aunt Lucretia, born 1727, died 1810, and married John, the eldest son of James and Jerusha McCurdy. The third child of Patrick and Mary was Uncle Neil, born 1728, and lived beyond eighty-one years. He married Jane, a daughter of Andrew and Mary (McGill) McCurdy. They had four sons: Archibald, Neil, John, and Daniel. The fourth child of Patrick and Mary was Uncle Daniel, born 1732, who married Mary Butler. The fifth child was Aunt Cecilia; and the sixth child was Uncle John, born 1746, died 1807. He is the father of John McCurdy, born 1779, who lived in Guinea in Africa, the ancestor of the African McCurdys.
